Senior DevOps (hybrid/Krakow,Poland)

About the role
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team, reporting directly to our DevOps Team Leader. This role will partner with engineering leadership to drive advanced infrastructure initiatives end-to-end—from system design through production hardening – setting the technical bar for operational excellence across the company.

The immediate challenge: Vetric operates a high-volume, multi-account AWS. You will solve complex delivery, scaling, and operational problems along the way.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Cloud & Migration Strategy: Work under the guidance of our DevOps Team Leader to architect and execute our migration from ECS Fargate to Kubernetes (EKS) without downtime, while maintaining our existing cloud estate.
  • Advance Infrastructure as Code: Design and implement modern, modular IaC frameworks utilizing Terraform and OpenTofu to ensure consistent, multi-environment deployments.
  • Architect Enterprise CI/CD: Evolve our delivery pipelines (GitHub Actions, OIDC federation) at scale, reducing developer friction and elevating deployment safety across dozens of services.
  • Scale Data-Intensive Infrastructure: Oversee the performance, capacity, and resilience of our high-volume data layer (ClickHouse, ScyllaDB, DynamoDB, RDS, Redis) and event-driven messaging pipelines.
  • Enforce Reliability & Observability: Enforce organization-wide reliability standards using open, modern telemetry stacks (OpenTelemetry, Coralogix, Grafana), ensuring on-call operations are driven by signal, not noise.
  • Balance Growth & Governance: Make high-impact technical tradeoff decisions that balance velocity, least-privilege security, zero-trust access (Tailscale), and FinOps cost efficiency

  1. Technical Implementation & DevOps
  • Build APIs and backend integrations to specification
  • Support data architecture improvements alongside the Head of Technology and Chief Quant
  • Contribute to DevOps and deployment pipelines where required
  • Participate in cloud migration planning and execution as the firm moves off on-premises infrastructure
  1. Collaboration & Adoption
  • Work closely with internal operational teams to understand workflow pain points and translate them into technical solutions
  • Collaborate with the core development team on integration points and system compatibility
  • Support adoption of new tools — documentation, training, and iteration based on feedback

Requirements:

We are looking for a mid-level engineer with 4–7 years of hands-on experience building automation and integration solutions. Relevant backgrounds include DevOps engineering, automation engineering, data engineering, backend development, or cloud engineering.

  • Strong Python skills — this is the primary language for automation and data work at the firm
  • Solid experience with APIs and system integrations — REST, webhooks, data connectors
  • Hands-on experience with workflow automation tools (e.g. n8n, Zapier, Airflow, or similar)
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) — active cloud experience or strong motivation to develop it
  • Practical experience implementing or working alongside AI tools in a professional context
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and deployment pipelines
